My wife hates it loud too, I use the fader control to bring the volume down in the cabin. BUT I do like the idea of the two decks. To take it a step farther, you could take the low level out put of one and connect it to the input of the other. So if you want to use/play a cd, thumb drive and add ons. As in my case HD radio. The two heads can play the same music at the same time. Theres a project for me.

Who said anything about being Italian? I hope you know that I just joking around with you. All my family was from Revere, Chelsea, and East Boston, we may be distant cousins.

FW did go a little overboard on my system, they provided a Sirius reciever for each head unit. They could have done as you say and daisy chained the units. My electronics are just a little too old and missed the USB wave. The boat also has a 6 CD changer that doesn't support MP3 disks.

Well its time to upgrade you'er decks.

About 1930-1935, my grandfather moved from E.Boston to Winthrop. In those days, that was "move'n on up"!

The separate Zones seems like a good idea to able to play music in the cabin at night and not be blasting all over the marina.
One of the two remotes (transom) is still there, however it has been weathered and looks rather bad. Think I may be as well off to replace the entire system as purchasing the head unit and other remote to match the old existing one may not be the best.

You can play just the sound below without having two separate radios. Just use the fader control. The rear channel goes to an amp for the outside and the front channel goes to speakers down below. Works great. The only reason to have two radios is to able to play two different things at each location. Bear in mind if you have satellite radio service this will mean paying for two subscriptions. And you can't control one satellite module from two different head units. And it IS important to be able to control the sat radio from a remote. No point in having the service, with all of it's channels, if you can't easily change channels.

They're all going to look weathered sooner or later. But newer ones definitely have more/better features.
