Besides headunits are cheap, every time I go to Revere to visit the family, they always has some cheap electronics that fell off the truck.

My wife hates it loud too, I use the fader control to bring the volume down in the cabin. BUT I do like the idea of the two decks. To take it a step farther, you could take the low level out put of one and connect it to the input of the other. So if you want to use/play a cd, thumb drive and add ons. As in my case HD radio. The two heads can play the same music at the same time. Theres a project for me.
