This past weekend we replaced all 7 directional reading lights with a similar bulb by phillips (same price as the bulbs above), purchased at home depot...they work great. I figure I have reduced my power consumption by 2/3 or more, and now I dont hassel the kids to turn off the lights because they get too hot, or used too much energy! So...everybody is happy on the boat now.

Here is the link to the light bulb I used for the reading lights.
http://www.homedepot.com/Electrical-Lig ... 2ky&Nao=24

Here is the product info in case the link doesnt work:
Philips AccentLED 3-Watt (10W) T3 Light Bulb
Model # 407980
Internet # 202514338
Store SKU # 896290

http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?slg=en&scy=us&ctn=046677418397

I searched several Home Depot's in Canada for them with no luck either. I had to get mine while visiting the States, I go there quite often on business.

Sorry you are having issues tracking these down. They have made a real difference in our cabin lighting.

If you run into issues, let me know. I can ship a few to you.

Happy New Year.

I may take you up on that offer in the new year.

Cheers!

I installed these in the spring on advice from Hutch9900, and they worked great all season. Hard to tell the difference between them and the Halogen other than a much lower power draw, and they are about 100 degrees cooler. Took a couple weeks to get but 10 bucks and you can replace all your cabins lights.

If this link dies just search this on Ebay: G4-Warm-White-26-3528-SMD-LED

I've got some pics of them in action I'll post a little later

As Bliss stated, they do work and look great! Sometimes you win, and sometimes you lose with things like this on Ebay. I thought it was worth the 10 bucks to replace them all and it paid off. The ones from Home Depot look great too. I had pics of before and after at one time too, but I cant seem to find them. :?

Ok, I was able to find them.

Here are pictures of the LED bulb replacement. First, one of before the replacement: http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h35 ... 1fdc58.jpg ... 3.jpg.html This one is after: http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h35 ... 2583f3.jpg I know the pic quality isnt the best and sorry for not just putting them on here, but resizing pictures for this forum is a PITA. Anyway, I think they are a near perfect match!! These are 1/10th of the draw of the other ones and put out zero heat. For the price, you cant beat it.

Thanks for the eBay link Hutch, I ordered 2 sets (5 in each set) today. Like what was said earlier, nothing but time for the shipping. Actually less than $10 (shipping included) for both sets. Worth a roll of the dice.

Do you need to modify the light housing to get these to fit?

Thanks. Just ordered 3 sets. No more worries if the kids leave the lights on anymore!
