Wow. Between you, Capn, and ric....this place isn't what it used to be.

It's a shame all the good info is kept in PMs....

Wow!? I wrote what you finally understood three times. Three times. Three times, twice differently. I am more than glad to help when I know I can - but I would appreciate that the messages be read.

Not sure if you've ever been on your boat getting a lot of stuff done, a lot on your mind....heat getting to you. Thanks for the advice, didn't mean the comment to be taken very harsh...we are all here for the love of Four Winns boats.

Not an unexpected comment, considering the source. You are welcome for all the help I have given over the last 4 years, even though you obviously do not appreciate it.

And I believe, we are all here for the love of boats and boating, and to share experiences and knowledge, regardless if we currently own a Four Winns, have owned a Four Winns, or may be a future owner of another Four Winns.

Enjoy your boating season.

After looking at yours Friday, I went and reviewed mine. My works exactly like yours and I think we both have come to the conclusion they are working fine. The manual does not explain its functionality at all.

Good to know! Something about it being my first slipped boat, and that amount of money sitting there....makes you nervous when you don't know if something like that is working or not!

Hi,

Where is a galvanic isolator on a Vista 258 located?
I can see the red light on my electric switch panel on (galvanic isolator fault).
Where can I buy a new one and is it difficult to replace it?

Most GI's are located close to your shore power inlet.

A UK video that will help explain the basics of installation..

I've never had a problem with either of our boats GI systems. But both did have Prosafe FS-30's.

So it's not behind the electric switch panel?
Cause my 220V inlet is on the outer side of the boat... The GI lights (green and red) are on the switch panel...

Not sure on a V258. And with the ProSafe GI's you need no lights/ or moniter connected or on the panel.
Since they are also ignition protected , mounting of them was in the engine compartment for easy access
if needed. But never did need to service our's.

Is this what you're looking for?

On my 278 this is in back of the engine on the port side.

There was none installed in my '99 v258; I found room for a Guest isolator just to the aft of the stereo and added the two LEDs to the AC panel alongside the neon indicators.
