Anybody with a new 358 see the tags that say "Dryclean only" on the sheets? What did you do with them? Well, I washed and dried them and they don't fit the V-berth at all. Not sure what we are going to do about that.
Also, just a quick mention. I have always been told that one of the chief reasons to go with V drives was for the lower maintenance costs associated with them. They also handle somewhat better. I have heard a good argument about I/O's is the performance and the fuel economy.
Well, I observed through my smartcraft gauges that I was burning 24 GPH doing about 27-30 MPH on fairly calm waters. In my SR that had V-drives and bigger engines, I would use at least 32 GPH to go 27-30 MPH. The way I figure, if I run the boat about 100 hours a season which is realistic for our type of boating, at $4.00 a gallon I will save roughly $3200 bucks in one season alone. I doubt gas will be getting cheaper with $200.00 a barrel getting closer and closer! Looks like the fuel savings will more than make up for the I/O maintenance issue.
Steven - sounds like great performance numbers! That's clearly one of the benefits of having a shorter 358
If both radios are giving you the same 'antenna' message, yeah - I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that someone forgot to plug em' in.
Don't know what to tell you on the sheets - I'm actually using different sheets than the ones that came with the boat.
Flyer - your radio woes definitely sounds like an issue for your dealer to tackle. Glad to hear FW stepped up.
