I don't doubt you but our fridge only works on shore power or generator power and the electrical panel has the breaker on the a/c side only. hmm

Steven - Bingo Boyz looks great! And the pooch looks happy.

Is your boat an early production of the 2008 model year? It looks like your helm seats are curved at the top (from that picture). Ours are straight or flat. That could explain some differences, including the fridge. Our cockpit fridge definitely runs off the ship's system battery and shares the 12V Helm Systems breaker.

Yes, I believe our boat was built in December of 2008 which puts it somewhere in the middle of the production run since FW runs June to May. There are some differences from the boat we saw at the boat show here in DC and the one we purchased in VA.

I would have sworn that the boat we saw in DC in January had the collapsable radar arch yet it had the wood blinds. I was told the radar arch was a later change and the boat I saw had both. Who knows. I now have wood blinds anyway and we love the look!

Still have the galvonic isolator issue and still have the generator issue. They sure are slow around here. Other than those items we are nearly perfect and done with the punch list........woo hoo!

Having lived with the FW for a few months now there are many things I like Vs the Sea Ray. One thing is the rocker switches on the helm and the fact that the very last switch on the right is the most important one. The Nav/anchor light switch. With the SR it had the flat rubberized switch pad and the switches were clustered, never was able to feel my way to which switch I needed. This makes it easy, you hit the last one and then can find any other one you want.

Everyone loves the LED lights on the transom and in the cockpit. Also the "mood" lighting down below is awesome. We also like the head and the galley space is very workable even though our SR galley was much longer, somehow this one works better for us.

It's possible we've all got different brands. We've got a U-line icemaker in our cockpit and it only runs on AC (shore or genset). Down below in the cabin we've got a Nova Kool fridge that runs on both AC and DC power (switching automatically).

For the cabin fridge I would've liked to have the DC breaker panel for the fridge use a switch type instead of the pop-up kind. But I'm sure there's a reason for it. But the Nova Cool doesn't have a separate off switch. It only turns off if you dial down the thermostat. Which is tedious and usually means it doesn't get turned back on to the correct setting (thus wasting more battery power).

Steven - again, great looking yacht. I stand corrected on the seats - it was an optical illusion on the shot taken through the eisenglass. Do you not have a pop-up breaker for the cockpit fridge in the breaker panel under the helm seat?

Rberm, Bsteven43 - any updates, mods, pix???

Hi Guys - bsteven43 checking in. I've just caught up on the thread and learned a lot as always. Overall, we couldn't be happier with the boat and are really enjoying it despite the lousy northeast Ohio weather so far this year.

A few things to add to the thread ....

Galvanic Isolator - we too have an issue but it seems different than what others are seeing. Our GI lights blink red slowly. It is still an open item.

Engine Hatch Lid - we noted on delivery that ours sat proud of the deck a quarter of an inch or so and asked for resolution. Our dealer took measurements and FW has supposedly made us a new one. Our dealer is to be installing in the next week or so.

Cockpit TV - we opted for the Jensen cockpit TV and it failed almost right out of the box. This seemed to have been a known issue with FW because they've sent us a new one no questions asked.

Mid-cabin TV - worked properly up until a week ago and now we get sound but no picture. Still an open issue.

Foredeck sunpads - we wanted to leave them on the foredeck but didn't want them getting covered in droppings so we had a local canvas guy make a matching cover - looks pretty good. I'll provide pictures if anyone would like to see it.

Canvas patch by transom door - Because of the way the door itself is set in from the transom, there's an opening where bugs can fly in, you're all aware of that I"m sure. It appears as though there was to have been a "patch" for it since the bottom of the aft curtain has velcro and there are studs lining the transom doorway where something was to be snapped. I checked with the dealer and he was checking with FW. In the meantime, I had the canvas guy make a patch.

Depth finder on E80 - Seems to go out while the boat is underway periodically. It will blink dashes for 10 seconds or so and then come back on . Not sure if this is normal operation or not.

Dunnage locker - My single least favorite thing about the boat. Poorly laid out inside, a very poorly designed lid and ineffective scupper drains. I'm trying to come up with a solution other than jamming weather-stripping in the seal to keep it from accumulating 3 inches of stinky water every time it rains

Microwave - Doesn't seem to have much power. Won't pop popcorn for instance. Verified that the voltmeter reads over 120 while it is running and discussed with service manager. He said he's heard of instances where european models have been installed and don't run at proper power? Sounds weird but I think they're going to bring a new one when they redo the engine hatch lid.

Great boat - tons of compliments. Very happy despite the pesky issues above. Skipper Buds in Port Clinton OH has been very good to work with.

Look forward to comments.

I checked with the dealer and he was checking with FW. In the meantime, I had the canvas guy make a patch. If I recall correctly, our boat has the glass and the canvas which goes to the deck. I may be confusing this with the cockpit cover though. I know for sure that one goes down to the deck, covering the transom doorway.

Depth finder on E80 - Seems to go out while the boat is underway periodically. It will blink dashes for 10 seconds or so and then come back on . Not sure if this is normal operation or not. Ours does the same thing but we are in a tidal river with lots of shoals and I alwasy thought it was just shallow!

Here's a question. Anyone use their cockpit cover yet? Ours is fine although some snaps are missing and around the aft bimini poles there seems like there should be a cutout to go around the pole. We can't snap all the snaps around the poles. I looked at a neighbor's 378 and his cover has the cutouts. Anyone have any input on this?

I just got back from changing the oil in both engines. Have nearly 26 hours on them and I guess you should change the oil for the first time at 20 hours. Had my 29 buck oil pump worked, this would have been a relatively easy process. I had to stop midstream and go to Boater's World to buy the big Jabsco pump with the bucket. What a difference, it worked like a charm.

Cockpit TV - did not buy it
Mid-cabin TV - works fine so far
Foredeck sunpads - great idea! please post pics and if you don't mind approximate cost.
Canvas patch by transom door - Our camper top has a flap the covers the door almost all the way to the floor. Three snaps on each side
Depth finder on E80 - don't have
Dunnage locker - Leaks like a sieve, no room for a rear anchor, dealer is ordering new door ours it bowed out in the middle. I'll try something eventually.

Microwave - made only hot dogs so far, seems to work fine

Great boat - tons of compliments. Me too.

At the dock, at little tight especially when the wind blows across. Big fenders make good neighbors.

What are these for? Some sort of light block?

Hey, Same color scheme as me. What is your interior color? Ours is the blue. Those screens on your galley counter are to blank out the portholes to darken the cabin.

What month was your boat produced?

The oval cover is for the port hole in the head. At least that's where we use it. You could also use it in the starboard port hole behind the galley cabinets. Make note not to completely block that shelf area as the fridge depends on being able to vent fresh air out through there. It pulls air in from the front edge below and convection allows the warm air to escape up through the gap between the shelf lip and the hull. If you drop anything in there you can retrieve it by pulling out a drawer (or yanking the fridge via a dozen screws around it's frame). You learn not to put anything up there that'll be small enough to fall through the gap.

How much did you shell out for the sunpad cover? If it's a reasonable price we'd certainly be interested in getting one for our 348.

I use the E-80 with the data bar running vertically along the right side of the screen. I then put the depth at the bottom of the data bar. This lets me see the depth just by glancing at the bottom-most info without distracting myself from running the boat.

Our microwave nukes popcorn fine. Same with the TV, isolator and engine hatch.

I keep meaning to get holes put in the cockpit cover for the bimini poles. It'd probably be better to have a velcro flap instead of just a hole. Meanwhile I just leave the outermost corner unsnapped. The cockpit cover snaps all teh way down the door opening. Our camper canvas door panel has the vinyl window at the top and a flap that extends down into the door area. It snaps down along the transom door opening, with the door itself on the inside of the canvas. You say yours has no lower panel?

We had the foredeck pad cover made for $150 from a local guy. I will take pics next time I'm there since there is some interest.

Looks like we never got the piece of canvas that runs to the floor to cover the transom door. I'll push the dealer on that.

Better Luck,
You have great taste. Our boat is boat is blue inside and out. It was produced in November and arrived at the dealer mide December. Probably just before yours.

BSteven
The canvas piece I describe is part of the camper top. The clear vinyl section that covers the aft port corner, has a blue canvas extention that covers the door. It's sewn together as one piece.

Somehow I missed this, my engine hatch creaks a little, I'll pull up the carrpet and see if it's sticking up.

Bill
I figured the oval panels were for privacy or light block.

OK, mechanic was on board today and found out that the Galvonic Isolator is wired to the panel light switch not the DVD player as indicated by FW. That means if the lights are not on, no GI is functioning. This explains why the light was dim on the GI indicator when the panel lights were on. But I had only one dim light not both. The location of the GI's is behind the electrical panel all the way against the gunwale of the port side. Not a place easily reached.

Anyone having issues with the house breaker on the charger panel in the transom electrical panel? We are thinking the breaker is not large enough to handel the loads placed on it or that I have a faulty breaker and that is why we keep popping the breaker.

Any input would be appreciated.

Also, has anyone with a new 358 checked out the cockpit cover yet?
