Well the first project will have to be the cockpit area ....

I need to replace the Sun-baked instrument cluster, (located newer style silver cluster dials) white faced)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/281123076350?ss ... 1423.l2649

and I need to find the faux "glossy" wood parts... any ideas on that ?

Not sure why that previous owner wanted the chart plotter and the fish finder mounted so darn low
down by the helm ?

any suggestions ... I would like to update the helm to a 2010 "glossy wood" version....

Thanks!

Look at 3M di noc carbon fiber to cover the existing. Not wood, but looks really good.

Ric, according to FW the manufacter of the cockpit faux dash pieces is out of business?

Mine is so brittle that I believe that If I have it wrapped it might just break apart...

I would welcome converting everything to carbon fiber... Just wondering how well the carbon will hold up ?

Any suggestions or advice as to the direction....

Thanks

Henry

You could remove them, coat with a thin layer of epoxy, than recover with di noc.

Don't rule out hurricane sandy salvage boat if you need alot of parts. You might buy a
whole boat with holes in the side for less than new parts.

Rick,

Thanks! Starting to check now ....

After the detail I starting putting together a list of items that need to get done...

Not Working -
Trim Indicator - wire broken at sending unit (Pic coming) any suggestions -
Speedo - not working and looks like there is something growing in there !! - (most likely replace all the indicators) The depth finder is fogged and in-op as well
Trim Switches are soft and gooey , they still work but it's a messy to trim the boat ;-)
Whip Antenna is missing and by the looks of the wire is was snapped off - wire is present but no coupling
hairline crack on the toilet pump- where do I go for that ?? any suggestions would be appreciated! (it's a hand pump ) not vaccu-flush)
Bulb in the spotlight is out ... need to replace

No extinguisher in Engine compartment - Need to get a fireboy installed (Can I do this myself?) and a fume detector (again can I do this?)
Need to convert all the Lights over to LED -
Also the canvas need little things (other than the front canvas windows) being replaced -

During this winter -
Having all the upholstery topside redone - the previous owner made a lame attempt at re-painting them - (drives me crazy!)
Having the Window frame re-done and Painted (several points of light corrosion) the coating is flaking off

** Rick did your 248 come with that nice aluminum Trim on the Swim platform.... That's another feature I would love to add!

here are some pictures I took while she was racked -

Yea I haven't done any mods other than mechanical repair....lol. You have a windlass, that's not standard or even an option on the 248. That's a nice upgrade.
