OMG! That's freaking beautiful, Brett. I'm soooooo envious! I just called TT Custom Marine, but no one picked up the phone (??). I must have this on my 328! I want to do the entire cockpit and swim platform like you did. They probably won't have a template for my 328, so I have a couple of questions for you:

1) How long did it take you to mark out the template for your boat?

It took me months (because it was winter and I don't have the garage up yet) in fair weather? Maybe a day!

2) What did you use to create the template?

Travis supplied me with a roll of clear mylar and a sharpie.

3) How long did it take TT to create the pieces from your template?

A day if that.

4) How long was it, from the time you sent in your template to when you received the completed decking?

Less than a week.

5) I know you don't want to say exactly, but was the total purchase under $5000?

Yes.

Thanks for the responses, Brett. I just got off the phone with Travis, and I was right, they don't have a template for the 328, but he told me he doesn't think it'll be too much of a challenge to get the deck layout and specs online. He asked me to email him some information.

By the way, he gave me a ballpark for doing the complete cockpit and swim platform on my 2000 328, and man, you were right about the price. Amazing! And to think I almost spent a couple thousand more going with FlexiTeek.

Ono,

FW wanted $1400 for just the ESP flexi. I did not spend a whole lot more to do it ALL! :)

Kinkster,

Yeah the template thing, most of these guys are not going to have templates for all these different boats. And TRUST me, Four Winns is no help either.. I tried to get the CAD plans for the 248 (which Travis said, they wouldn't do) and he was right. And I guess I can kind of, sort of, understand that.

I don't beleive that Travis does international work, so that's why he reffered you to someone local. This stuff is kind of heavy and shipping would be murder!

The templates are not hard to make. What I originally did was traced just the non skid areas. Travis (the smart man that he is) said that would leave way too large of gaps on the pannels and I wouldn't be happy with the look and neither would he. So he wrote me a lengthy email about what to measure, I went out and took down all the measurements and this is what I came up with.

You just can't argue with that :)

Brett, I see you got that extra piece for underneath the forward-facing aft seat. It looks seamless. Great job! I can't wait for Travis to start on mine. :D

Ono,

Yeah Travis "hooked me up" on that one... My mistake but he cut me a whole new contigiouis piece from the Starboard that wraps around the front, free. It really was MY mistake. But neither he nor I were happy with the results.

You really are dealing with a FIRST CLASS guy! They even featured Travis in one of The Boaters TV Segments check it out: http://www.theboaters.tv/2008/04/21/127 ... etic-teak/
