Well how did the sea trial go ? Ours went pretty good, a couple of issues that need addressing this week for the boat we are considering. Hope all went well for you too.

Good day Cap'n,

We were pleased with our Sea Trial. I was impressed with how the twin 5.7 litre engines move the 328 Four Winns. For a 12,500 lb (dry weight) boat she really gets up and goes.

As such we handled over the certified cheque and had the marine transporter haul the 328 to our home marina (5 1/2 hours).

I had a chance to give her a washing before the rain came mid evening and we spent the night on her on blocks while my wife started to organize things. Our son was happy with his sleeping quarters in the aft cabin. I think the aft cabin LCD TV with DVD player and playstation had somewhat of a influence on him really liking his new bedroom. :)

I wanted to have a through servicing of the drives and get a coat of wax on her before she is splashed.

Very nice clean boat, so far we are quite happy with our purchase. It'll be nice to get her out on the water.

I hope the boat you are considering works out well for you.

Mike.

Congrats Mike! Time to update your signature 8) We all look forward to the pictures.

I don't recall if you mentioned whether or not the impellers have been replaced recently but I would encourage you to do that as well unless you know the history there. Best of luck with her!!

Congratulations Mike!

Where will you be using her? I see you were looking in the Great Lakes area but thta is a pretty large area. Will you be down here in the Thousand Islands/St. Lawrence River area?

Congrats Mike,
When you start taking pics, can you post a pic of your aft cabin with LCD. I'm looking to do the same, but not quite sure how and where I want the tv, etc.

Thanks

Thank you guys for the congrats. Much appreciated.

Seirra, I am going to take your advice regarding the impellers and have them replaced. I did review the service records for this 328 prior to purchasing and the owner did a pretty good job with keeping up with his maintenance.

I have placed a Work Order with my marina and plan to have the spark plugs on the engines and generator changed while they have the boat for drive service. I'll have the genny impeller replaced as well. That way I can start our boating season off right.

millhaven_nice_guy, Our home marina is out of the Light House Cove area on the Canadian side of Lake St.Clair. We do make runs from our marina over to the US side of Lake St.Clair a number of times throughout the season. Cruising at 30 MPH we can make the US side in about 1 hour. We typically rotate our two week summer boating vacation with going up into Lake Huron one year with the following year going into Lake Erie. This year we plan to spend the first two weeks of July in Lake Erie with stops at Kelly's Island, Put In Bay, Cedar Point and Maumee Bay etc.

txvista, I'd be happy to share a picture of where the LCD TV is mounted in the aft cabin of our 328. It is on an articulating arm immediately to the right of the oval aft cabin mirror. Actually my wife, son and I all watched (while laying, sitting in the aft cabin) part of a DVD movie we rented for my son on Saturday evening. Haven't even turned on the LCD TV in the cabinet at the V-Berth yet. I see you have a 2001 328 with what looks like a black camper top. Ours is a 2001 as well with the black camper top and black dinnette with the Captains Gold interior.

I'll try and get some pics posted soon.

Mike.

Thanks for the info. I didn't even think of doing doing an articulating arm there. I had a couple of quotes of mounting a flip down DVD player for the kids in the aft. Something else to think about.

We have the same interior, but really can't tell in my pic that the camper is actually navy.

Thanks for the welcome to the 328 club, Michael. Here are some preliminary pictures of our 328. Some of the interior pictures may show a slight blue tinge as the blue shrinkwrap was still on.

Our marina is starting the service work we requested tomorrow and we should be launched by this coming weekend.
