I may be listing my 298 within the next few weeks unfortunately due to a new baby and a health concern...heated storage every winter, all new canvas (mooring, camper and helm) last year, new cockpit carpet last year and many recent upgrades plus it has twin 5.7 Volvo's!

Probably way out of our price range. Looking to stay around $25K and I am certain your V298 is worth more than that.

Yeah, I was hoping to get more for it. If things change let me know, I am making the decision this weekend but will most likely sell, it will break my heart though

I hear ya. Our Baja is on Craigslist right now even though I love it! Don't want to sell, but daycare is killing us right now.

Having the same issue here as well, and I am being told I have it cheap in paying $150 a week for daycare, for that amount I could be paying for two boats!

That is cheap. Have two kids in daycare at $370.00 per week!! For that price I could have a 35 ft boat or another house!!

Is it the payment that you can't afford or the operational costs? The times now are not seeing boats sell unless you go real cheap and even then they stay on the market. If you can afford the payment just have it hauled home put her on blocks and use it as a gazebo/guest house then when you get back on track you won't have to start all over again. The savings by not operating her can be put towards other priorities.

I don't understand why guys like to bitch about daycare costs... I used to do it too. But in reality we pay it because we have a wife that has a job that hopefully makes more than the daycare costs or else she would just stay home. If you don't like the cost then look for another daycare. We recently switched from a $1000 a month daycare to a private home that costs us $30 a day. Big savings but the atmosphere is not the same and my daughter had a hard time adjusting. She will be changing schools now too so September will be hard again. The only reason we left the other daycare was because they couldn't promise us a spot in their before and after school program for September.

Secondly, this is a boating forum and we shouldn't be discussing daycore for our kids

You want a 1998 or newer with EFI in a larger size boat for 25K? on a trailer? I think you will be looking for a long time.

There's a '00 268 listed here on a trailer asking 27k. It can be done...just have to look hard and find that great deal out there.
