beautiful boat.....

To get the pictures to show up correctly on the thread u need to wrap your url (i.e.http://s598.photobucket.com/albums/ ... 4540_0.jpg) in between the image tags which is
[ i m g ] without the spaces

There is a button with "Img" in it that will put the tags for you then you just need to put the URL in between.

this will result in

I noticed you are using photo bucket.....

If you look at the "share the Image" section you can grab the URL with the image tags from there. Just copy and paste.

I had to hop on board yesterday... just couldn't wait. All is well. Swapped out Damp Rid in the cabin one last time. Poked around, sat at the helm like a kid in a parked car.

Did dodge one bullet... I pulled out the long, sliding drawer under the galley sink to investigate the thru-hull that's going in (doesn't look like the fridge needs to come out) and there was a can of tomato juice back there that had obviously dropped behind the drawer somehow during the season. With all of my insanity to keep everything pristine, I think if a can of tomato juice had exploded in the cabin my head would have exploded. Somehow it didn't and I'm using it in my celebratory bloody mary this morning.

Some grainy iPhone pix from my visit...

Sierra,
had the same view on our 318 yesterday also...went down to Essex to clean out all the extra "stuff" so the dealer could take her as a trade...always way more on a boat than you think...also pleased that everything was in good shape. We're looking at April 9 or 10 to splash the new 358.

I guess we all have the itch. I went down, removed the shrink wrap and put on the camper cover. Last season I was in my slip as of this weekend. This year it will be late. I have to wait for my friend to finish his tax season work. We are taking our boats to the C&D canal (our new marina) together. Probably last weekend in April depending on sea conditions. 2.5 hours to Cape May and then 2 or so to our marina. Can't wait.

Sierra, I was on board with my mechanic, we too looked behind the drawer as a way to gain access to the side of the hull to drill, it is a tight space. I could hardly reach in there. Glad you can! Let us know how it turns out. And glad to know that the tomato juice didn't explode, that would not have been pretty.

Steven, I saw your post that you were thinking of installing a raw water washdown. Renmind me next time we raft up and I'll show you how I had mine installed. It's greatfor keeping the swim platform clean.

JERRY!!
How have you been? And how is Barb? Yeah, I have seen yours, that's what makes me want one. It wont be this year. This year's extra project is the sink in the galley, bottom paint, complete detailing, etc, etc. if you have been following the posts.

If you have been following the posts, you know that we are not in the water yet b/c we are awaiting new outdrives. Once they are in I will be in the water shortly after that.

Skooter and I are looking forward to hanging with you, Barb and Chuck and Michelle more this coming season. We are doing a week long down to the Bay and perhaps up the Rappahannock and then to Colonial Beach for the 4th. Not sure you are interested, but we are trying to gather together some folks who might be interested....! See you soon!

Steven, I can't believe the problems you're having. Sea Cores were supposed to be the "be all, end all" to corrosion problems. I think maybe you need a different slip. Yours is possessed by demons or something. A trip up the Rappahannock sounds interesting, but as for the 4th, we missed DC for the past two years and decided it wasn't going to be three in a row. Washdown project.... as seldom as you use it and for the short duration it's used, you could tee off an existing thru-hull and put one in fairly easily if you want to go that route. I'm going to look at putting an outlet in the bow for an anchoir washdown, but the hose routing around the forward berth and into the anchor locker has me baffled. I'm sure it can be done, but at what cost in panels that will never line up again, screw holes that get stripped, and anything else that may go wrong that will We've been in the water all winter, so as soon as my winter projects get finished, we'll be out there looking for you.

Has anyone else noticed this? Whenever I scan the boats for sale in the various publications I peruse, I rarely see a FW. Seems odd. Any thoughts?

Maybe it's because people who buy them like them and can afford to keep them? I'm sure there's more than a few boats that suffer buyers remorse. And likewise a fair number that were more than the purchaser could afford (either in price or operation).
