If I was to make it, I would look at starboard. |

YUP,,,,star board for sure. It costs a few bucks but you'll never have to make another one. |

So where do I get "Starboard"? Can I cut and shape it myself or do I need special tools? TIA |

West Marine. Use woodworking tools. Nothing special required. |

West Marine charges TOO much for everything. Defender.com has it for less or google it. Its like working with a hard pine or softer than oak. Before you take a router to it, use a piece of scrap first. |

I had to make a smaller piece for my 2009 Vista; the factory one was not protruding enough, so the seat cushion that was resting on it would collapse as soon as anyone sat on it. Moral; don't assume the factory piece and its dimensions are fit for purpose ! I used some 1/2" thick engineering nylon sheet I had lying around ( a relic from my job in the plastics industry). For years I have struggled to cut such substrates in a straight line with a jigsaw . This time I used a TCT circular saw, so, so, easy ! |

Hi mate, Are your seats 'straight across' like the ones you pictured, as mine are the later model of Vista and are slightly more 'curvy' so to speak! If yours are the same shape as mine i'm happy to measure mine in a few places and pm you details.... |

LVChris, If you can not get any one to get you rough measurements, you will have to take some card board to your boat and create a template. I recommend going big and trim down to what works after "test fitting". As mentioned above, what works on someone else s boat or from the factory may not work best for your boat or use. |

Do you want me to see if it's on the abandoned 238 behind my boat mechanics shop ? |

Powermaker, couldn't hurt. I already bought the starboard to cut and make one, but really wish I had a rough measurement to start with. Thanks! |
