Post subject: | Best way to run her |
I am making a trip in the morning, leaving one marina on lake mead and driving our vista to another marina where I will meet up with the admiral and all the little mates for the night and back the next day The drive is around 22 miles I think, from callville bay to temple bar. So my question is how fast should I go? I know that's hard to answer just want to know what speed or rpm's are the easiest on the engine. And is there anything else I am forgetting for an overnight? TIA |

At Lake Mead, we would always put it up on plane and stay around 30 to 35 mph. Good smooth ride and lets you watch out well enough in the narrows for 70mph bass boats. |

I run mine according to RPM's vs. MPH. I cruise between 3200 - 3600 RPM's. She stays on a nice plane, doesn't burn a ton of fuel while not winding her out. Still leaves plenty of throttle in case you have to get into it. Just my opinion. |

Thanks for all the great advice. We cruised her up there at 3500 rpm (about 27mph) almost the entire way. Hit some nasty wind half way through the virgin basin and had splashes coming over the bow but made it there in an hour and twenty minutes. I slept in the v-berth Saturday night and it was one of the best nights sleep I can remember. I put the full enclosure up and then shut the cabin door and it stayed nice and cozy inside. I woke up at 5:00 stuck my head out of the portal and decided to stay cozy for another hour. Went out fishing...got absolutely nothing. Picked up the family and went to a beach where the wind pounded us for hours so I decided to head back a little early in case I had some trouble with the wind. It stopped about half way through the basin and it was smooth the rest of the way. Thanks again for the tips. |

Nothing better than a great problem free day out on the water. Saturday I will cross my fingers for exactly a day like you had. |
