All,

What are the model numbers of the composite drives that Volvo had all the trouble with? I'm shopping and want to avoid them. Also, does the solution require the drives be replaced?

XDP composite drives.

Just stay away from the drives, and not worry about bellows or entire drive replacement. It's a realm you
do not want to enter.

I had to replace my outdrives after numerous issues. If the boat is a bargain it is because you will need to spend money to replace the drives sooner than later.

Volvo has abandoned the technology.

It is not worth the effort to even look at or even consider any boat with the composite outdrives.

i have a 2008 358 and had to have the XDP drives replaced, the transom shield flexes and causes water to enter bellows than drives and bearing only seems to be a problem with heavy boats ie above 28ft

Volvo stepped up to the mark and replaced mine with new DPS-A they have been excellant smoother, quiter and more grip in the water

This is a lesson we're been learning the hard way over the past few months... :(
