My 2006 258 Vista did not come with the cockpit cover but it does have the camper canvas. From reading the forums and in the manual it would appear that the camper canvas and cockpit cover use the same snaps on the hull and windshield. I just wanted to verify that's correct before I order one from the dealer.

I'm sure it will be ridiculously expensive so I don't want to get it in and find out there's a separate set of snaps that it needs that weren't installed at the factory because the cockpit cover option wasn't ordered...

Mine uses the same snaps with a few minor exceptions. I'm not sure but I believe the snaps are installed by the dealer. I've seen canvas shops install them on custom covers. I have both but if I were needing to order one I would use our local canvas dealer. Those guys would make a better product and custom fit at a lower price. Might want to check around.

I purchased a new cockpit and bimini cover from the dealer in October. All the zippers and elastic loops were already installed. The snaps are included, however I have to install them on the cover. There's quite a few, so I purchased a GOOD snap installation tool. Those around the windshield are in a track and can be bumped out of position. I'll setup the camper canvas along with all the eisenglass to make sure all the snaps align before starting on the cockpit cover. It's indeed pricy buying from the dealer, but the color matches perfectly and since it's cut from the OEM pattern, it should fit just like the original. I'm waiting till spring to tackel this.

Generally the camper isinglass sections will attach to the top of the windshield and the cockpit cover will attach to the bottom of the windshield. Most recent boats are using snaps that attach in a slot in the upper or lower windshield frame. Aft of the side windows they may use the same snaps on the hull, but maybe not. There may be differences in fit or areas that just need and extra snap or two. If you can make it work so they use the same snaps, so much the better. I'll second the comment on having good tools for the snaps. Good luck.
