Still looking - have run into a 2007 278 - the dimensions are the same as a 268 - layout looks the same as a 2006 268 - was this a simple rebranding or am I missing something? Also same engine will have a different hp rating - earlier 5.7 gxi rated at 320 - later ones 300 - same as gi's - ratings drop from 300 to 280 with newer boats - was this a change in engines or different rating system? |

Small things changed but still significant.. 1. sink area in cockpit 2. redesigned dash 3. redesigned helm seats 4. electric hatch 5. fiberglass arch or stainless arch depending on what was ordered 6. motor HP is the same for the gxi 320... gi's go from 280(2004-2008or9) to 300 in later years ( 2010/2011/2012) so some one might be labeling them wrong on their descriptions. 7. I'm sure there are others since there are difference in 278's between their own years.. then changed to 285 for 2011/2012 |

Aside from Bryan's comments, they molded in the swim platform and called it a 278. The earlier boats had a bolt-on swim platform. The hull mold is exactly the same, however. |
