Hello, I'm a new member of yours very useful forum. I live in Italy and my boat is in Ligurian Sea. Last week I've finally bought a Vista 288 (2004). It's beautiful, really very good conditions, two 5.0 GXi DP-S.
But I'm very surprised to have found almost no 288 owner in forum. Perhaps this model is not sold in U.S.? It seems to me a nice boat and I look forward to the spring to start sailing and would to know why it is so rare among you.
Excuse me for my english...

Welcome! The 288 Vista was only made from 2004 thru 2009 I believe. Not a real popular size for Four Winns. It was too big to be trailerable without a permit, and not big enough to really be a full fledged express cruiser. Even though the boat has all the amenities of a 30 foot express cruiser. It was a good boat, but just never really a big seller in North America. There are 288 owners on this board, but not many left.

Just my opinion, but I think people out grew it's size in a short time, and wanted more room in the cabin and cockpit, and moved up to a 298,318 or 328.

Enjoy your boat !

I had not really thought about the fact that Vista 288 is not trailerable. In Italy, however, there is not much need to tow boats, however not so large, and the problem is less important!
Instead if the boat exceeds 10 meters ( 32.8 feet) our government require us to register it and to pay much more taxes. Every 5 years is required an examination of the authorities to issue the security certificate. So in Italy is more important 32.8 feet limit!
Thank you!!! I'll continue to read your forum with pleasure.

You have a very picturesque area to boat in Flavio.

Enjoy your 288 Vista.

Mike.

Yesterday we launch our boat for the first time (for us...).
We were on the Lake of Como, waiting for carry the boat in Rapallo (Liguria).
Only few photos and not very beautiful, sorry. I hope to do better the next summer, in the Riviera!
Thank you for your hospitality!

I don't know what you're apologizing for. I've never been on my boat with snow capped mountains on the horizon.

Welcome to the forum!
