I would think that your running A.F. though the water heater and the rest of you system then. And just stop the engine from freezing. Yes?? |

Tulsa, Oklahoma. I still plan on using AF in engine just wanted one for using my boat for a longer season. I purchased a Boat Safe 1000w. Thanks |

If you're going to use AF for winterizing, you do know that sucking it up the drive is risky (if you have raw water cooling) because if the thermostat does not open all the way, it could leave your engine with mostly water in it and very little AF, whereas your exhaust manifolds and risers will be full of AF. It is much safer to drain the engine manually and then back fill with AF through the hoses if you want to use AF. Truthfully it is more useful for corrosion protection than freezing. Just draining the engine is what you do for basic winterizing. AF is optional, but helps in keeping air out and that reduces corrosion. Just use it the right way. |
