I have made an offer on an 01 vista 248 and now I am scrambling to figure out where I'm going to store it. What size door is required to fit it on the trailer. I have a little over 30 ft in length available measuring straight back. The boat is close to 31 on trailer. Not sure if I can angle and gain that much or not. I am also going to have to cut hole in back of garage and add a door ....ceilings are 11'6" so I'm ok there just have to figure if I can make length work how big a door I can squeeze in. How high is your boat on the trailer?

Thanks
Rick

Four Winns says 10' high on the trailer. I was able to squeeze mine under a 9'6" door by letting some air out of the tires.

Does your trailer have the removable tongue? I'd say mine is no more that 26' long on the trailer with the tongue removed.

No Jeff, don't have the removable tongue.....it's on a load right galvanized trailer. If I can get it in a 10 ft door I'm home free. I would like to keep the trailer and not trade it off, but it is a roller trailer and I think they sit a little higher. I was thinking I might be able to put a drop hitch on truck and drop front of boat lower just when backing it in. How wide was your 10 ft high door? Trying to decide if I want a 10 or 12 wide door. Thanks for responding. I am getting excited about getting it, I should know within a week.

9'6" high and 12' wide. Here is a pic of when I put it in last fall. When it comes to garages/pole buildings, always go bigger than you think you need.

Garage already built with 8 ft doors in front. I have 11'6" floor to trusses. The boat I have made an offer on is on a load rite galvanized trailer. Per my measurement it is right at 10 ft high and 31 ft long. I only have about 30 ft but, I can either angle it a little or add a swing tongue to the trailer.... I thought for sure. My 32x46 garage was big enuf when I built it but wasn't really planning on this boat at the time. The back of garage is vinyl so it's an easy add to cut a 10x12 door into. Just wanted to make sure I could get it in a door 10 ft high. Thanks and can't wait to be a vista owner, if all goes through. Hopefully I will know this week.

Rick
