Hi, I was hooking up the fresh water to fill the storage tank on the boat, but ran into a problem. When hooking up the garden hose at the dock i was able to get water to the sink facuet and bathroom faucet was fine. I filled the storage tank and then proceeded to turn on the little booster pump to see if the pump worked which it did. Looks like when the last time the boat was winterized they used some glycol (red) to keep the lines from freezing. after a few minutes i was not able to get any water to the sink and bathroom anymore????? When I connected the garden hose again I was only able to get water to the bathroom but not the kitchen sink? Now I cant get any water to either unit when running the booster pump. Maybe a clog some where? Maybe the storage tank has some debris in it and clogged the line?

Start with checking the screens in the faucets.. Should be pretty easy to remove, and is a good possibility of where your problem lies..

It soulnds like it could be a combination of both the screens at the faucets and the strainer on the instake side of the pump. Check all 3.

The (red) is RV antifreeze. ONce you get that flushed out, I would flusch the whoe systme with a strong water conditioner or there is a reciepoe for a bleach/water solution, but I dont remember what it is. YOu can do a search here and find it.

When I winterized, I would run rv antifreeze thru, then blow it all out. it really leaves a bad smell and taste to the water.

If your screens and strainer are plugged, I would pull the line off the tank and flush it really good to get any junk out of it.

Update your signature with your boat year/model. Otherwise it's just guesswork trying to help.

Clogged screens is one possibility. The other is something wasn't fully winterized properly and the lines froze and split somewhere.

Bear in mind there's two parts of the water system, hot and cold. Be sure to check them individually.

I never leave pink antifreeze in the water lines. I much prefer to drain the lines of water, pump some antifreeze through them and then clear them again with an air pump. I never, ever put pink in the water tank. It just takes waaaaaay to long to clear than nasty smell from the water if you put it in the tank directly. I disconnect from the tank and then use the on-board pump to pull pink from a container and pump it through the system.
