Thanks

At least on my boat, you get access to such areas by removing the bulkhead behind the helm

On the 328 you access it by removing the fluorescent light fixture. Not sure if it's the same on your boat however.

On my 248 its on the cabin ceiling just in front of the head wall. I'm guessing on the 268 maybe it is in the head?

Or behind the storage/medicine cabinet in the head?

I located the wiper motor on mine when I had to replace the trumpet horn on the boat. To gain access, you need to remove the wood/vinyl panel located in front of the head (has the Xintex CO detector mounted to it). There are around 6 or so screws that hold this panel in place (some are behind the mirror inside the head, as well as behind the toilet paper cabinet). You'll also need to disconnect the mood/accent light above the forward-berth, starboard-side window. I recall a couple of screws holding the shelf above the window to the panel as well, which need to be removed. Once the panel is off, you'll see that the ceiling vinyl extends past where the wall was and over/above the head. You can try to pull the vinyl/foam material away from the ceiling, but the adhesive they used makes it pretty much adhered. When I replaced my horn, I simply cut a 3-4 inch slit into the vinyl which gave me access to the wiring. The wiper blade motor was located right next to it. Obviously when the panel is replaced you can't see the slit.
