Hey Guys, Thought I'd show you some pics of my TV install in the 248. Well after I finally found the "radbud" o-ring I needed for the anchor locker I picked up this little tv on ebay for 200 bucks shipped. I simply emulated the plywood behind the stock mirror using the oem hanger clips. I've hit some pretty good waves and it's holding fine. I transfered over the slots that the mirror used and bolted the plywood up to the tv directly. With a little luck it came out absolutely perfect! ![]() ![]() The Alpine head unit plays DVD's so the sound plays right through the boat's speakers, I didn't even bother with the TV's speakers. I just ran a video RCA to the TV. I actually ran the plug back to an extension cord and used an inverter on top of the cabinet so it can be watched on battery power. Here's a pic of my sirius stiletto and the Alpine DVD head unit. ![]() Thanks to all for sending pics of your setups earlier in the season when we had the tv discussion. |

Looks great. I'd like to play my TV through the stero speakers. Looks like another project. |

Looks really really nice! Hey, how about a quick write-up for boat-projects.com? We got lots of good ideas and projects that we might loose track of. TV install in a 248, windlass in a 248... I'm in the process of adding another one for the Snake River tank monitor I did on the old 248 Vista. I will also be getting some pick of the small projects I did on the 170 Freedom before it's sold. |
