You guys were always helpful - so I will try to see if you can help me with this topic as well. I love my Vista and thought I had everything functioning. But then last week when I filled the fresh water tank I found it empty next day when I came back for another ride. I have tried to see if I can find where it leaks. After filling the water tank, turning on the Fresh Water switch, we can hear a flushing sound that indicates a leak somewhere in the hidden section between the galley stairs and the fresh water tank (located on the port side). It sounds like the leakage is quite close to the galley stairs. I have opened the galley stairs to inspect the fresh water pump and the plumbing but could not see any leakage. I then tried to find out how to get access to the hoses between the fresh water pump and the fresh water tank on the port side of the boat. Without success. Can any of you tell me how to get access to the fresh water tank and the piping to the fresh water pump? Thanks in advance, Rolf |

If you look at the mid berth area, the floor is in three sections covering the sullage, fuel and fresh water tanks. It's easy to lift the floor sections over the sullage and fuel tanks. The plywood/carpet over the fresh water tank is trapped by the small closet. It must be possible to gain access but I haven't had to do it yet. |

Thanks. I had already tried to open the floor in the mid berth area. Problem is that when I unscrew the sections they are still stuck under the walls. Maybe I have to unscrew them all so that I can slide them sideways to remove them? Any ideas for how to find the hidden water hoses are much appreciated.... |

Update - I found out that it is actually the fresh water pump that has a leakage. I will post another subject to get information on how to repair it. |

Yeah, the wet-end on my fresh water pump got a crack in it. Appeared to be from the flange that's used to connect it to the rest of the plumber. The good news is it only sprayed all over surfaces that can handle getting wet, not cabinets or carpets. $50 for a new part and a couple hours of my time to R&R. |

I repaired the fresh water pump myself. The leakage was caused by a broken pressure switch assembly (part number 9 in this chart: http://www.pumpsandsprays.com.au/f.ashx ... uad-II.pdf ) I just took a soldering iron and melted the broken pressure switch ("glued" it together). It now works perfect again. Took me ten minutes to fix it. |

Turns out my pump was old enough that the currently shipping wet end replacement won't work on it. That and I've read no end of complaints about the 5.7 shurflo. Not sure what to do, get another one or change to something else? |
