I know this sounds like dumb question but how the heck do you get the batteries out of a V318? I have looked at it for about an hour and can't find a hole large enough to get them out. I have paid to have them replaced a couple times but paying for it just kills me. My port engine battery is gone now so any advice I can get would be a great help.

There is hole to the rear of port engine manifold that they fit thru. You have to "thread" them in end ways. I laid across both engines and pulled each one out, handed it to my son, then reversed the process. It's no easy feat. I might pay to have it done next time.

Thats the only way out I can think of. Jsimon told me that route, and I gladly paid the $20/battery fee. My mechanic would love my boat to be an owner maintained boat!

Must be a difference in engines, but mine will fit low in the front between the water pump and waste tank/shelf. It's actually not a bad job with my engine set up

With the seacore setup, the engine heat exchanger is in the way

The spot at the end of the riser is the only place I could see also. I will try the lay across the engines deal and see how that works. Either way this is going to suck for an old guy.

Amen, brother!

The pair of 6v batteries I added back under my swim platform are a real back-killer to wrestle in and out. The worst problem is the hose clamps on various parts of the engine. Those are vicious at catching on me as a I have to lay across the engines to get back there. I keep a movers blanket onboard now just to avoid that. Actually had to get 3 stitches in my toe because of one and the bad plan of wearing sandals...

Just make sure you have the terminals covered when moving them around. You do NOT want to have the battery slip loose and short out across exposed terminals. I always save the covers that come with the batteries and put them back on any time I have to move one.
