Post subject:  Forward bilge issues

Noticed my forward bilge running and the indicator light on the manual cabin switch was illuminated, but the bilge was dry. Checked that the float switch which was operating correctly, which it was. When I manually operated the float switch, the bilge pump ran a little faster (more voltage??). Checked that the manual cabin switch was off, which it was, and when I turned it on, again the bilge pump ran a little faster. I unplugged the pump/float switch 4 pin connector in the bilge area which turned off the pump, but the indicator light on the manual cabin switch stayed illuminated. Left it unplugged overnight and when plugged back in the next day, it appeared to be working fine. An hour later, the problem was back. So problem is an itermittent one and not sure if any specific actions are triggering it.

Sounds like a wiring short to me, but tried replacing the float switch thinking it may be faulty. No luck, problem still exists. Thinking of changing the manual cabin switch as well in case it is faulty. At this point, I have pulled a wire off the back of the manual cabin switch which has temporarily solved the problem. Bilge pump still operates with the float switch, but the manual cabin switch and indicator light are disabled. After studing the wiring diagrams, the 2 wires on the back of the switch run to the 4 pin bilge connector. Must be where the problem is???

Any one have any ideas, similar experiences, suggestions?

Can't help you with the pump issue but I noticed you have your flag mounted on the arch. How did you do that? That's what I want to do.
