Hi guys, I have just picked up this 2007 Fourwinns 288 with twin 5.0l mercs & no generator and really enjoying the boat. I have noticed that it has a slight list to the starboard side and I was wondering if this is normal in the 288. It is approx 30mm out of level.

I have checked the bilge and it is clean and wondering if maybe their might be some water in some sealed compartments somewhere?? or is this normal

From my experience, it is probably just weight distribution. Our 258 had a list and after talking to FW, they told me that the boat is designed for all features. You mentioned no generator so you are probably light on that side. You may need to move a battery or two to balance it out. I think this has been discussed before so you may want to search the older threads.

Is it listing when sitting at the dock or when driving? If its listing when sitting at the dock its most likely weight distribution. On our 97 278 vista it tends to list starboard. if we had a generator it would be dramatically worse. Just move some contents around.

Our Vista 278 listed to port. I keep the tank for the vacuflush system (starboard) empty and the fresh water tank (port) full. Also, the boat is not equipped with a generator on the starboard side. I carry some ballast on the high side which keeps the boat level in its pen.

Thanks Guys great feedback, it lists to the starboard side when at the mooring. The boat equipment seems well balanced (twin engines, 2 fuel tanks, centre fresh & grey water. On the Stb side I have 4 size 31 AGM batteries and on the other side is the vacuum system? On the plane it seems alright. I have checked where I can the hull and there doesn't seem to be any sealed compartments that I can find?

I think having 4 batteries on the same side would be enough to have an impact on lateral trim in the pen. Lifting two of them out would be an easy way to check this. Batteries are heavy when compared to other pieces of equipment - you could have 300 lbs in all. I have 2 batteries on the port side and I think they are the reason for the ballast on the starboard side.
