Hello,

I just purchased a 2000 Four wins vista 248 with Volvo penta DP.

One of my aft cabin lights is not working. Does anyone know what bulb they use?

Also looking to replace the bulbs throughout the boat with LED where ever possible. Has anyone done this and kept track of what bulbs were required?

Thanks !

Congrats on the purchase and welcome....I'm clueless on your bulb issue but someone will chime in I'm sure.

I upgraded every light in my 278 Vista, even the dash instrument lights. In most cases it is better, and often cheaper, to buy a complete LED fitting. LED replacement bulbs may be bigger than the old halogen or incandescent equivalent and may not go in the fixture. I did leave two existing large light fixtures in the mid berth and fit LED bulbs, it made sense economically and worked OK.
Many LED fixtures are waterproof and they do not have bulbs that shake out of their holders or corrode at the terminals.
Slightly off topic, but I have more recently put new lights (9 in total) on my daughter's ten year old horse trailer. The old fittings showed the usual signs of corrosion, loose bayonet bulbs, etc although it had been not used at sea!! Most of the potential LED replacement bulbs I checked were more expensive than new fittings but I would not have used them if they were free. It's nice to see two wires hanging out of a new, sealed LED fitting and know that they are hard wired inside and resistant to moisture.
