I have seen many posts discussing how bad the backing is as it comes off all over your boat (as it did in mine) but haven't seen any posts saying how they dealt with I. My carpet looks perfect on the carpet side, so I don't want to just throw it away. Has anyone found a way to fix this?

I am going to try taking a stiff brush to remove all the dead black foam, then use adhesive to apply something like this on the back.

It has holes in it so it will drain water and I can cut it to fit. I was going to use this to attach it to the back.

Has anyone tried something else that worked?

I coated mine with plasti-dip. It definitely bought some time but I still get some small residual from carpet backing. Search for it on here. I got it at lowes I think.
