Just purchased my 328 Vista and with boating season not till June it's going to be a long winter.

Previously had a 270 Rinker so really looking forward to the new boat.

We keep boat at our cottage on Lake St. Clair in Canada.

Looks like a great site to do research or get some questions answered.

Thank you everyone in advance for the information.

Jus,
Welcome, you did what I did last year, bought mine in October and took it for a 2 hr drive and then winterized it. Despite the weather, I covered some muddy miles on the Mississippi River From Red Wing to Dubuque. Mine is a 2003, didn't see what year yours was. I am new on the Forum, but great group of boaters and some great info sharing done. This year, I worked or paid to have an expert work on my generator, Ice Maker and Horn. Look forward to seeing you here.
Respects,
Ziggy

Welcome to the forum Jus Laxin.

I see you are out of Mitchell's Bay. We boated out of Mitchell's Bay for about 6 years before moving over to the Lighthouse Cove side of Lake St.Clair.

Would I be correct to guess you purchased your 2002 328 Four Winns from Maple City Marine in Chatham?

Mike

Great boat! Welcome to the forum. There are more than a few of us in ontario with a 328.
My opinion is that the 328 is one of the best layout for its time and best value for your $$$$$

Hey "Hour Decision" hopefully you dont know something bad about the boat that I dont.

The New "Jus Laxin" will be ready in spring will new 7" touch screen GPS, new cockpit carpeting, underwater lighting and new berth matching duvet and pillows (wifes idea).

Will have to meet up some time, if you happen to se us at Grassy or 2nd sand bar please stop by for a couple cocktails.

Note: We keep our boat behind the house on Hingle Point.

Take care and for the record this loooooong winter is driving me crazy.

Take care

Jus Laxin - We frequently boat over to what you refer to as "the second sandbar" and spend a weekend's afternoon there.

I believe your 328 and ours will likely be the only 328's on the Canadian side of Lake St.Clair in our immediate area. There was another 328 from our marina but that was sold in the late fall and the new owners will be running her by water to it's new home in Georgian Bay this coming spring.

We enjoy crossing the lake over to the Michigan side often and have made it a tradition to boat over to Lake St.Clair Metro Park in Michigan for our Canadian Victoria Day long holiday weekend in May. If you are interested to check out this marina you are fine to follow us over if you have never been there before? Great marina to visit.

Mike.

Jus Laxin,
Congratulations we just spent last season with our new to us 328 Vista and love it. We shipped ours down from Traverse City to Lake St.Clair and have met Hour Decision (Mike and family) a few times. If you go to the US side and hear us all on channel 69 any weekend (ok - well most weekends) hail Justhavenfun or any Lake St Clair network boaters and we will chime in, join us... we raft off in 3 to 4 feet of sandy bottom conditions and will maybe get you wanting a dinghy next. It's way to much fun, lol.

Hey Jeff - Greetings to you.

I think we will plan to take our annual two week boating holiday this coming summer (2014) and spend it in Lake St.Clair instead of our traditional either up into Lake Huron or down into Lake Erie. I think we would have a blast rafting up with you fellow LSCN folk.
Mike.

Now that you boat is over 30 feet you may need the transponder decal. We needed one for going into Canadian waters but I'm not 100% sure if you need one for entering US.
Here is some information from the website.
Look Forward to rafting off with a few 328's we have 2 other Four Winns in our raft off's a 268 and a 258 with twinns.

The Decal / Transponder Online Procurement System is an easy way for Commercial Vehicles, Private Aircraft, and Private Vessels (thirty feet and over) to purchase their Annual User Fee online. Commercial Vehicle purchasers also have the ability to request replacement transponders, transfer vehicles into their fleet, and maintain their fleet inventory.

you need a transponder decal for any boat over 30' long. Relatively easy over the net
