OK went to look at this boat. A couple of things we're not liking. 1 The engine hatch is 2 panels that come up from the floor and you just lift them? Makes for a very tight squeeze into the engine compartment. 2 Old B&W GPS, dont know how much in US for a new one. 3 Head room in head and cabin is not as roomy as my Cruisers 3275(I'm 6 2 in height) 4 Big one There is only a round approx 10" access to the holding tank. How do you gain access to the compartment under the cabin floor It is a very nice boat, but access is not what I imagined it would be. Still nicest boat we saw on the weekend |

1: manual labor sucks we know 2: Its a 1999 not 2013, buy a new GPS 3: that's because its a four Winn's not a cruisers 3275 4: what compartment under the cabin floor? You'd be happier with something made after 2003, big differences. I'm also 6'2, having gone to many boat shows you need to get into the 40ft range for standing room in an express cruiser |

If I want to get access to the toilet holding tank I am not sure of a way to access it. I cant imagine four winns would bury something beneath the floor with no way to get at it in case of breakdown |

Ease of access doesn't go hand and hand with modern design. |

Hi Yakker57 welcome to the forum. Here is a link to the PDF version of the 1999-2004 owners manual for the 328. In there shows all the different access panels for various compartments as well as other important information to aid you in your shopping. There is a handful of happy 328 owners that will hopefully chime in soon and answer questions for you. Good luck! http://www.fourwinns.com/upload/Documents/OwnersManuals/Earlier/1999-2004%20298-328%20Vista.pdf |

thx bliss for the manual, I couldn't find how to access the holding tank. Another question, if I have the hull number can a person contact 4 winns and get the hx of the boat. I was able to with Cruisers Just trying to be thorough to make an informed decision. |

If you have the hull id the only info you may be able to get will be the original dealer it was sold to. From there you may just be chasing you tail. May I Ask why you are going from the Cruisers to the Four Winns. You are not really gaining much more room. The 328 in my opinion is very well laid out. We boat with friends that have the same model cruisers you have |

We have to be around 4000 rpm to be on plane with the Cruisers. Very well laid out boat,I really love it but we have 5.0LMPI engines with alpha drives. Want more power and beefier drives |

I don't believe there is any real access to the waste tank, at least there is not on our '04. There's a couple of access portals to gain access to where the lines all attach to the tank, and where the level sensors are at, but if were to have to remove the tank, I believe you'd have to cut out the bulkhead forward of the aft cabin, or cut the floor.. All would be expensive, and anything beyond that would be a huge ordeal, and probably cost more than the boat was worth.. Personally, I don't ever intend on accessing that tank in that fashion, and everything we've had to do so far, was easily done via the access portals (cleaning debris from level sensors.. yuk!!).. Again, our tank is located in the center of the floor, just immediately forward of the aft cabin.. Now, the fresh water tank, located under the v-berth, looks to be fairly easily accessible, and wouldn't take much to get it out I don't believe. Again, I don't ever intend to have to worry about it.. |
