Hi,

I want to buy this Jabsco conversion kit to convert manual to electric toilet.
As my Vista V258 has the "Toilet" switch in the toilet which does nothing, I guess that it is there just for this purpose.
I wonder if everything is prewired or I need to get the wire to there?
The light on that switch is turned on when I press it...
Does someone have the electric scheme of Vista V258 MY 2008?
It could be helpful.

I did the conversion on my 248. I did not use that switch as the conversion you just twist the top and hold it.

We have that same conversion and it's great! When we bought the boat it was wired through that switch and the toilet would barely flush water. That switch only uses like 16 gauge wire so it is extremely undersized. Once I ran a heavy gauge (I think 8 gauge)fused wire straight from the battery to the motor that thing sings like a buzz saw. It's very impressive what that toilet can flush now

Where did you get the wire from?

But it is undersized...?
Well, I use this toilet only for, hmmm, No1, never for No2, if you know what I mean hahaha
So, If I am sattisfied with that wire, I can just take the wire from the switch?

Yes jabs com electric conversion will screw right on where the manual pump went. Your best bet is to buy marine tinned wire on ebay. I think I ran 10 gauge on mine and it worked fine but safer to go with 8 gauge

I had that kit in my last boat, it was great!! The Only problem that I had, in taking a shower try to keep the top dry. Water got into the micro switch and it stopped working. I bought extra switches and I my still have them.

The wire for the switch is way too small to support the motor as it won't be able to supply the needed amperage and will damage the motor. Also the dial on top is a switch so if you ran it through the wall switch you would have to actually hit 2 switches to flush.

When we got our boat the previous owner had already replaced the motor once since it burned out from being improperly wired. They had given up on it and gave us the old manual pump to install since the electric one was "useless". I did like acguy and bought a couple spools of marine wire and ran a direct supply like the Jabsco instructions state. The instructions will also tell you what gauge wire to use based on the distance between your toilet and batteries. Trust me when I say that you want that macerator to be working properly at full power....you don't want to have to disasemble the unit because it's jammed on a small piece of toilet paper.

I actually would prefer that over my current vacuflush system minus the noise. You know that you will not get any plugs with it as it does an awesome job a chopping the waste up!

I will get the 8 gauge wire and will try to install it...

Are these things really $350?? That's all I could find.
