This is my first post as we have just bought our first FW. It is a 2005 model shaft drive with twin 8.1 Mercs. Could someone let me know the location of the air horn compressor and how to access it. Also The clarion radio only working speakers in cabin and saloon. I have tried resetting as per other posts without success. Just wondering location of amp and also if any other options to fix. :D

Hi. I have a 2005 378 as well new to me last season. Clarion stereo was not working well. I finally had a pro come out and we determined most of the speakers were no good. We ended up replacing the entire system. TV's were inoperable as well as they were analog. I believe the amp is located in the storage area under the steps to the salon. I hope it helps

Fun to see more 378 owners on " board" ! I agree the stereo system is somewhat archaeic and I was never able to get the Sharp TV's to turn on. Will replace with more recent LED television this spring. I was also successful in finding a replacement for the Clarion XMD 3. To avoid too many changes and maintain the wiring harness the "obsolete CMD6 seemed to be the simplest upgrade. In early Feb, I went to the Miami boat show and was lucky enough to find a new unit, unfortunately our rental car was broken into and was stolen later that week. Back to square one and now the only CMD6
I can find are re-furbished.

Thanks Minnow for the reply, this vessel is a steep learning curve for. Me but having a lot of fun with it. Looks like will replace radio with a newer one like you. I am still having horn issues don't know where the pump for the air horn is located, could do with some advice on the issue. All the best finding a new radio. I think I will go for the clarion radio DVD combo think it is Cmv1

They may look like air horns, but aren't the horns on the 378 electric trumpet horns, with no compressor ? In which case, the problem is electrical (either in the horns themselves or in the wiring to them).

Hello,

I have the same boat (2005-378) with the identical issue with trying to locate the air horn compressor.

Could you please assist and advise where it is located and how do I access it????

Thank you in advance for the assistance!!

You seem to make the assumption that somebody here had the answer to your question, with so very few having a 378.

Then there is the whole issue of looking into it a bit yourself, and seeing if anyone has any advice.

I seriously wonder how hard it could possibly be to find the compressor if one took a few minutes to try!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I see your posting the same comment on both your threads. My advice on your other thread is the same as here, with this addition; Just because no one else has YOUR exact problem, doesn't mean there is no assistance to be had here. But, commenting as you have above might guarantee that assistance may not be as freely offered in the future. This is a great forum, with decades of experience. Guys here have even traveled to others boats to help out with a problem or to just hangout with some beers. So, don't be so quick to dismiss everyone just because your question went unanswered.

NiagraChillin,
You need to chill a bit more, I was NOT having a go at anyone on this site only that my question went unanswered and that there were no thoughts whatsoever on the issue.
If you would like to know the compressor was in fact tucked into the substructure of the vessel behind the microwave and could not be seen only felt.
I posted after I found it in an effort to help others but perhaps you have taken my reply the wrong way.
Please chill a little more as your user name would imply, as my comments were directed at NO one in particular. I also make no assumptions of anything on a web site I take it for what it is.
Good luck
