fired up the boat for the first time since i bought it. Engine runs smooth, just need to get out on the water to check the carb they always have good response with no load.the out drive shifts fine.everything works except the trim tab gauge and the depth gauge. still need to pull out drive for bellows, u joints and bearing.

That's good news! I did the bellows on mine last year and they weren't bad to replace on my VP drive.

I am getting the itch. Went to Alum and it is still completely covered in ice :(

It should be good to go by tax time. They usually put the docks in April 1st. This year, may be a little later since its solid ice out there still. A couple of 60* plus days and that should put a dent in things though...

If you need a trim sending unit Sierra makes an aftermarket one for about $130 or so, mine has actually lasted longer that the OE ones (no longer available). The bellows design of the Cobra is basically the same as the Volvo SX (Volvo used the whole OMC transom design in the joint venture drives). The driveshaft bellows is actually the exact same part between the 2 drives.

I just trailer. The boat storage place is right around the corner from there anyway. I have heard it takes a loooong time to get a dock space. I dont know when they do the drawings, but I am good with our setup right now.

Can't wait to hear mine running again. Weather here is the same today 60 tomorrow 25.
On the Cobra if the trim gauge on the dash does not work 99% of the time its the sending unit on the drive. A pain to change unless you know the tricks.
R+R...from this list of articles....PS this is a good place to get OEM Cobra parts as well...
