Hey all,

Been a while... but still boating!

Question -- our Vistas have the xintex fume detectors in the dash - reading a sensor that's in the bilge somewhere. I did a search and found some references to the sensor being on a stringer, but I cannot find the sensor on our v318 for the life of me. I did not disassemble the seat and pull up hatch #2 (however).

Has anyone identified the location on our boats?

My sensor appears to have gone bad and needs replacing...

It's a red cylinder shaped thing with a grey wiring harness

I know what the sensor looks like -- I really just can't find it. Now, I'm a bigger guy, so maybe it's because I can't get my body down into the pits of the bilge. But, one would think Four Winns is smart enough to place it somewhere accessible without dissembling the rear seating of the boat.

maybe?

Well based on logic, you could put it near the starter because gas fumes in that area is what causes the big boom. But, you know how boat makers defy logic...

Mine is on the inside of the starboard stringer just in front of the engine.
I imagine on a twin engine boat it would be in between the engines towards the lowest part of the bilge?

Look on the top of the fire extinguisher. You will see a plug there. I think when you unplug it the alarm will go off.
What is it not doing?
