I have a friend/customer that would really like to get an anchor/bow pulpit made & installed on his V258. From what he has researched and the research I have done it looks like FW made a sort of skimpy SS pulpit/roller that attached just above the rub rail and had small pads that fit to the contour of the deck.

Does anyone have a V258 with one of these factory rollers?

Has anyone ever made or had a proper pulpit made for a V258?

Thanks.

I seem to recall two members here that had the same issue. One had Hall's in Muskegon order and install it, the other member installed
himself one that he bought from Defender that was a close match to OEM. Today finding an OEM one, it's easier to find a needle in a haystack.

If anyone has either the OEM roller/pulpit or a custom built one on a V258, I'd be very interested in seeing pictures.

I had purchased one of the last ones form Four Winns when we had our 258, but sold the boat before installing it. Over memorial weekend there was a transient couple come in the marina with a 98 258 with the bow roller on it, I was going to take a photo of it for just such an occasion, but did not.

Im sure he will be back in the near future and I can take a pic then, if thats of any help.

Your description of it is spot on, and I do remember the windlass was mounted on top of the anchor locker cover. I wasnt thrilled with the look of that.

Yeah, I have seen a few pictures on the web, but none that I have found provide much detail of how things are mounted. I'd like to see how things are attached and reinforced....but beggers can't be choosers. Any detail shots of it would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I just sold a 258 Vista that had an anchor roller that you are referring to. I lost that pin that went through the roller and in looking to replace it, called FW and they referred me to the vendor who as I recall was located in Muskegon. I put in several calls but never heard back from the owner. It appeared that they were no longer making this item. Good luck, perhaps a wrecked boat somewhere that is being parted out???

I just sent you a PM (private message).

That is the best way to discuss things like e-mail addresses etc.
