Post subject: How do you access/repair the port side wiper motor on a 298?

It appears that my port side wiper motor is not functioning. Last weekend, we had a lot of people on the boat and someone accidentally engaged the wipers. The blade wasn't able to move because it was being obstructed by a windshield mesh snap in screen and the walk through windshield was open. It was "running" for some time.

Now when I engage the wipers, I can hear an awful grind on the port side under the dash, but the port side wiper blade does not move.

On our. 328 you have to remove the cabin light

To stop that awful grind, lift up the blade and it will work as normal and then turn it off but the gear is stripped and it will happen time and time again whenever it is turned on when the walk through windshield is folded back. I gave up on it and just don't use the port.
