Our 338 Vista (2007) has a leak at the radar arch both at the hinge and the cut out area that accommodates the cockpit cover. The flooding will occur weather we use the cockpit cover or the full camper back canvas. When it rains or if we wash the arch, both sides pool water. The port side leaks onto the sink and into the trash pail and eventually onto the floor. The starboard side streams into the cup holders and behind the starboard seating. It then settles at the helm floor and leaks down into the cockpit seating area rug. During a heavy rain the cockpit is flooded. The backing of the carpets are wrecked and once or twice it has leaked down into the aft berth storage locker. I have been stuffing towels by the sink to catch the water on the port side but the starboard side is where the flooding is most apparant. Note, however it never collects in the storage bins directly under the helm seats. Any ideas on products we might use to seal these openings as they are too wide for caulking? We appreciate any ideas you may offer. Best regards, Marie |

I just went through this as my 318 has the hinged arch. I just used white caulk to route the water draining off the arch overboard. I also dropped my arch and put in some thicker weatherstripping which has helped. Now water only gets in if I am the hose at the opening. |

Thank you for this information. Where did you put the caulking to reroute the water? Can you send me a picture or describe it? Also, was it easy to drop the arch? We have never attempted to do this; probably because there has been no reason to do so. I though caulking might be the answer but where exactly did you put it? Did the water also pool at the helm? What a mess to an absolutely beautiful boat! Thank you again for your help. Marie |

Thank you very much for taking the time to post these pictures. We sealed everything up and now we await the next rain. You did a very nice job. Best regards, Marie |

Thank you for this information. We coulked and sealed "everything" relating to the Arch - both inside and outside. There was a rainfall over the weekend and the boat was "bone dry". Since we were not there I don't know how much rain fell but my neighbour said it was more than just a sprinkle. Usually, even a small amount of rain will cause the water to pool at the helm. I hope this works! If it does I will let you know. Thank you again for your help. Marie |

Awesome. I sometimes get water in at the helm but that is coming from the walk thru windshield and only with a severe rain. That's my next project to tackle. |

Glad to report the leak is GONE. We finally had a very heavy rain a few days ago. The boat had the mooring cover on and...I am happy to report it was BONE DRY inside. After 5years we finally found the fix. Thank you for you pictures. What a relief not to have to mop up the mess then do an extra load of laundry because of the wet towels. Thanks again! Marie |

Awesome. My bilge has finally been bone dry since I caulked it. It's a welcomed change. |
