Has anyone figured out how to access or remove the DVD player on the 288 vista? |

I believe its called DIN mounted. Remove the face plate and there will be a small slot on each side of the component. They have a special removal tools to slide in, one each side, but you can use two tie wraps and slide them in about 2-3" to unlock the tabs, and gently pull the component out. |

Do you intend to remove the entire DVD player, bracket and all? I did so a few months ago and replaced it with HDD Player. I can explain what I did if you intend to remove it completely. |

I was planning on pulling mine this weekend in an attempt to get it to power on. Hopefully it's just the fuse. Not planning on modernizing the entertainment system right now, I'd just like the DVD player to work for those rainy evenings at the dock. In the next year or so I'm thinking the whole system needs an upgrade. I'm thinking that shelf would make a good little storage bin for an iPod or iPad so I'd be interested in any tips you might have on removing the whole bracket. |
