Post subject:  258: need to build a wintering trailer...

Hi to everyone,

I need to build a winterizing trailer, it will never be on the road, the use will be only inside the marine for moving the 258 from the water to the stokage area.

The boat is still in the water and there will stay up to the end of october, the trailer has to be ready the day that she leaves the water.

The question: is there someone that knows or that can measure for me the length (in meters) between the stern and the point in which the bow start to rise upword, we call it "ruota di prua" that i can translate as "wheel of bow" but I don't know how you call it in English.

MMMMhhh, probably I've not been understandable, by the end I need the length of the straight and most deep part of the hull between the stern and the poit in which the bow begins :? :? :? :?

it's so hard...la carena fra la poppa e la ruota di prua, is there someone that understand Italian?

thanks anyway if you don't understand the fault is clearly mine

I think I understand what you want. You want to know how long the bunks (planks of wood to hold boat) are to be, correct?
I can't answer for a '98 258, but I can measure a '00 248, which is very close, maybe a little longer.

The center 2 bunks are 15" off center and 13' long, outer 2 bunks are 24" off center and 9' long.

Hope this helped
