I'm putting some thought into adding Auto Tab Control on my 318, and an trying to figure out the placement of the control. Here is what my helm looks like.

And here is where I'm thinking of putting the control, but I'm not positive how to get to the back of it. Does the armrest cubby come out somehow?

Not sure about the "glove box" comming out. There should be about a 3" hole under the DTS shifter. doesnt take much to pull it off. two screws on each side holing the trim covers on and four screws holding it to the dash, and a wire harness.

Wonder if its open under there between the tan portion of the dash and the white. Probably solid under there and wont be able to get to that section.

I thought about pulling the DTS, and still might to see if I can get to it or not. Doesn't sound that hard.

Not sure about your boat but you may be able to drill a hole into the white section with a hole saw after you take out the shifter. I think I can get there from the fuse panel on my 248.
