Do you guys put antifreeze into the vacuflush head system? Other than pump out, do you do anything else?

Yes, you want anti-freeze in the holding tank. Your manual(s) should tell you how much to use.

Heck yes...don't want that thing freezing up. I dump antifreeze in the freshwater tank and run it through the system including the head. I bypass the hot water heater though. Too much of a hassle to get the antifreeze out in the spring.

I always dump antifreeze in the vacuflush and run it through. Our waste tank is buried and if it ever splits the floor will need to get cut out to replace it. I am in Ontario Canada and bypass the how tank and then just hook my compressor up to the city water inlet and blow the lines out with taps open for like 30min, I also have the fresh water tank drained and isolated. I never put antifreeze in the water lines.

I use -100AF becuase you will not get everthing out of the tank. -50 can not be cut, but -100 can be cut 50/50. So what is ever lets in the tank, will not frezze.

I was actually going to ask the question on which antifreeze. So you put -100 in the head and -50 in the rest of the water systems?(not engine) Is -50 cold enough for where you are in MA? I actually read the Four Winns manual and it refereed me to in the instructions on the antifreeze..
"Provides burst protection to -50°F (-46°C) and freeze protection within a range of +12°F to +16°F (-11°C to -9°C)"

Its my first time winterizing the water systems.

I use -50 for the engine too. But I do have a closed system which makes it easy to do.

Pumpout then I flush a whole gallon down to protect the lines and holding tank.

I definitely pump out, but I put like 3 gallons or more in there because you cant be sure that you get everything out of the tank. How much AF do folks usually put in their water tanks? i think last year I put 3 gallons in there too! The stuff isnt expensive and worth it in my opinion to keep from an expensive repair.

I have to admit I was a little worried last year when we had record low temps here for days on end. But everything came out ok.
I may dump more in there this year just for piece of mind.
