Just an update. I finally got my shift cable fixed. Installed and adjusted myself. I think it could be just a little better shifting into forward but it shifts with no problems and its nice and easy so Im happy for now. Grease and lubed everything that needed to be done. Bellows looked good from the inside so I decided to change those out at a later date. I know I should have changed them out now but I couldn't see replacing something that wasn't bad. Hope I don't regret that decision later. So after all the time that it took to get it fixed our lake managed to drop another 2.5 feet. which brings it to 10.5 feet low. Because of that, all the ramps are closed. There are other lakes but my tow vehicle is just too small to be taking it on longer drives plus Im not sure it could pull the boat out on a steeper ramp so it sorta looks like Im land locked till spring unless we get a flood soon. Anyways, thanks to everyone's input back in August, Especially LouC. He always makes valuable inputs and willing to help everyone Ive noticed Chuck |

Congrats on gettin it done, it's very satisfying when you can do something that certain marine mechanics say is not possible but really just takes time to understand how the system is supposed to work. The main thing with these is to start with a good cable, lubed up bell crank in the pivot housing and a remote control that is not worn out with lost motion. |

I just hope I get to put it in the water now before I have to winterize it. Sucks having a nice boat sitting in the yard when it should be in the water |

We're getting to that time of year, getting cooler rainy etc. Probably get to use it maybe 3-4 more times before pulling it out. At least we never have low water levels, coastal salt water with tides |

I had the mechanics in our maraina replace both shifter cables as soon the our boat came out for it's winter nap. Night and Day difference. Now it seems the starboard throttle cable is next. At least that can be done while the boats in the water at any time and I would go ahead and replace both throttle cables while I'm at it. Also need starboard cone clutch replaced while its out. We better have a better 3rd year with this boat than we've had, long story short is as much as we like this boat I may get out of having a boat with outdrives. |
