So the DVD player on my 288 will not even power on and I am stuck trying to figure out how to access it. Any ideas how I can get to the mounting brackets to get this thing out? There is maybe 1" of clearance in the little cubby it is installed in and my big hands won't come anywhere close to fitting. Do I need to start taking the helm apart to get to the back of the stereo and DVD player? That's my next step. |

Have a picture of how it is? I had to dismantle my working DVD player in order to get it removed. I wish a I took a picture of the mounting bracket...but there would have been NO way to get it out otherwise. |

If you remove the power distribution panel next to it, this should give you access to this compartment and you may be able to reach it. Caution, I changed the volt meter on the panel which was no big dealt in pulling this panel out, but there are a lot of wires in there. Best wishes. |

Thanks, that looked to be my last hope of getting access to the stereo and DVD player. It's a winter project, especially since I am already winterized. |
