Hey,
I have just recently purchased a '00 298 Vista.
Has anyone here ever converted the "stock" halogen pot lights on a 298 Vista to LED?
I am having difficulty removing the covers to see what type of halogen bulb is in there.
Since I am talking about the pot lights below deck, while I was taking a "look" at the lights I noticed that the ceiling panels are all wavy and some of the screws that hold the panels have come loose as if they were pulled out, besides permanently sealing the ceiling panels with silicone, anyone have any suggestions.
Do I need access behind those ceiling panels?

Any suggestions appreciated

Thanks in advance (I have faith in the people's knowledge here)

Welcome Collin,

I think you will find if you try and rotate the outer bezel ring of your current ceiling mounted galley lights while gently trying to "pull it apart" that the bezel ring and lens will simply pull away from the light base. I'm assuminmg your 298 galley lights are the same as mine.

There are a couple of different LED light replacements you could consider. I'll let someone else who has updated there galley lights recently make the recommended LED replacement. There are existing threads here if you search "LED" that you may wish to read.

Mike.

Thanks Mike, and thanks ABC
At least now I know that it is possible to remove them.

Can wait to remove them and replace the bulbs with LED's

If in any way I can return the favour, count on me.

Go to this link. I believe it will answer your questions ( assuming they are the same lights).
