Good bad or otherwise? Currently with State Farm but received a quote from NBOA and is half of what I'm paying now for the same if not more coverage also this policy is based on agreed value.

I've had them, but have not had to make a claim with them. Good in my book.

had State Farm for 20 years, 2 claims, totally satisfied based on claim service, but have no ideas about cheaper premiums.

N.B.O.A is an underwriter. I have them for the boat and ski.The policy is written by Ace ins. Had a claim this past summer and very easy to deal with.

When I bought my boat I obtained quotes from State Farm and Progressive. Bear in mind I have homeowners and two cars with State Farm. I went with Progressive because "apples to apples" they were about 1/2 the cost of State Farm.

I have this to say about State Farm. They SUCK. I was with State Farm for 24 years, and my family had been with them since the 70's. Stayed with them through a few claims (an at fault in the early 90's, a break in, and a few not at fault accidents in the late 90's and early 00's) even though every other insurance was cheaper as I never had a problem with them.
Then, 2 years ago my wife had an at-fault accident, and with no warning from our agent or the company, they refused to renew the policy. The corporate office representative that finally called after I made a stink told me this - "Divorce your wife and we'll be happy to insure you again." I gave him and then his supervisor a piece of my mind before I was done.

Apparently they have a new program they use. It takes into account a million factors - average drive distance, years of age, occupation, etc. And then spits out how much you pay and if they will insure or not. My wife's job, distance to work and at fault accident added up to being a trigger for being high risk, so they dropped me. Other insurances have stopped using this program due to a high number of issues with it and State Farm and Farmers are the only two still using it.

I went with Allstate - Paid about the same as I had been paying, (after the at-fault was taken into account) and added the boat for $10 a month after discounts. Even comes with the first $1000 of a tow paid for with no deductible.
