Has anyone replaced the 4 step swim platform ladder? I'm having a hard time finding a suitable replacement.

Did you look on the Fourwinns website? You should be able to pull up a parts catalog for your boat.

Once you get a part number I think it should be easy to find a new ladder online.

Wow, I never realized that our ladders are so hard to find. It looks like direct from FW is the only way to get one.
Or you might get lucky on ebay.

I'm not confident any of those ladders are a good match. They are definitely not an exact match. I have an over the swim platform ladder but it has a hideaway "hatch" over it. The swim platform is already predrilled for the current ladder. I would like to find an exact match.

I did contact FW Lake George and they said it was no longer available. That was last summer.

I went through the West marine catalog with their manager and didn't find the same width steps.

It hasn't been easy finding a replacement with the same width and style. I have a 4 step folding ladder.

The deployed length is 40". The overall length, including brackets, is 48.5". The inside width of each step is 10.25", outside average width is 12".

It's been hard, that's why I'm leaning on the forum!

I looked around the hyperglobalmaganet and I am surprised to say I can't find one of these ladders either.

Have you considered repairing the one you have?... What is wrong with it?

I have a 2000 298 and they quit making the ladders that you and I have because the rung (or step) was not wide enough and hurt people's feet. I am pretty sure the one JeffLW posted the ebay link to was the replacement model so it should fit.

Nope, they aren't an exact match, I believe they are narrower by 1 1/2 to 2 inches. So you will have to drill new holes, not a big deal. The telescoping ladder is far better than the folding knuckle crushing, finger pinching factory one. Plus the steps are a lot easier on the feet.

But, if you absolutely must have a factory sized one, I believe this one is the correct width: http://www.discountmarinesupplies.com/Transom_Ladders-Seachoice_Telescoping_Transom_Ladders.html

Is this the one you are looking for?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-FOUR-WINNS-WELCRAFT-4-STEP-BOAT-MARINE-LADDER-MORING-DOCK-SWIM-WHITE-FOLD-UP-/271023086954?pt=Boat_Parts_Accessories_Gear&hash=item3f1a3c1d6a&vxp=mtr

If so I bought it back in 2012 because mine broke...but the dealership ended up repairing mine...so it's been in a box in my garage for two years...I might be willing to part with it.

Let me know.

They still sell the same ladder it just has added foot "pads" making it more comfortable. The one in this link is the new style. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Offwhite-47-Fol ... ec&vxp=mtr

The newest FW part # is 031-2261
It looks to be the same bolt pattern but I would call FW to verify.

Thank you guys! That was very helpful! I did some further digging and found a comparable ladder at Jamestown too. It has a 90 day return policy so I'm going to wait to order until I get a little nearer to Spring and unwrap the boat.

Yes I bought it on ebay 2 years ago, you can still see the listing but not the pics. After the holidays I can pull it down from storage and take some pics if you'd like.

Hey Chris, I'd be interested in the ladder if you still have it. Let me know.
Thanks

I do still have it, I'll try and grab it from the garage this week.
