Quick intro post as this looks like a great forum, I look forward to becoming part of the community and asking loads of daft questions
I am new to boating, did a lot of dinghy sailing in the UK as a child and tried again when I moved to Singapore last year but the wind here makes it too difficult to hold a beer at the same time. Singapore is a tiny, congested island so in order to explore a bit and get away from it all the only real solution was a boat.
Looked around for a long time while I took and passed my PPCDL (Private Pleasure Craft Driving License) which is mandatory here to operate a boat in Singapore waters. I looked at some awful, really really awful sheds that I could not believe were still floating. As usual the man-maths meant the budget was increasing each time I looked at a boat, so eventually I just blew it and bought a very nice 268 Vista (2000) with a healthy 5.7Gsi and around 350 hours. I bought it from a friend, and know how well it has been looked after by him and how much he has spent on it over the years so have gone into this with my eyes (and wallet) wide open... let's see how that works out!
Couple of photos to share, boat anchored at Pulau Hantu (Devil Island)

Early morning ride out to Lazarus Island

Arrive in an empty cove, small jetty to moor at if you are early enough, or you can anchor in Eagle Bay instead and swim to shore where you have the whole beach to yourself

Or at least you think you do, until you see monitor lizard tracks coming out of the water and heading into the trees...

I guess most of you are US based, lots of the threads I have read show people boat on lakes there, so hopefully these are some interesting shots for you guys. If there's anyone else on here from Singapore then let me know!
