Hello, Fairly new to my 328 Vista and need help with my heater/air conditioner. From the manual it sounds like I can run the unit from the generator or shore power. I have only been able to get it to work off the generator. Is there a switch other than on the cabin electrical panel for shore power? Is there something else that I am missing? Thanks, Chuck |

Do you have both shore power cords plugged in (2 - 30 amp, one for the house, and one for the AC)? Is the main for the AC (next to the shore power cord socket in the aft storage on mine) tripped? Is the AC circuit breaker on the main panel on in the cabin? |

Should work on shore power as long as you are in the water - aircon needs water flow. 1. Bottom gated Genny/Shore switch - to Shore. 2. Top left white button on to give AC - A/C voltage shows on analogue display. 3. Turn A/C On. |

You take the power wires from the generator that plug into the manual transfer switch, plug into automatic transfer switch box. You take the shore power wires from old switch, plug into ATS. You take the automatic transfer switch output wires, and plug into the panel where the original manual transfer switch wires plugged into. Remove (don't just bypass it and people think it still works) the original manual transfer panel switch and put a blank switch filler piece in. Done. It literally costs like $100 bucks and is the best thing since sliced bread. Why isn't there one from the factory I have no clue. Some ATS even have an output for a battery charger so when you plug in shorepower it automatically turns the charger on and charges the batteries. |

Yeah, on our 328, I certainly don't mind, sliding the switch from shore power to generator or vice versa the way the factory has it. Maybe only a $100.00 and some labour, but why really? Save your 100 bucks and labour and instead upgrade your lighting, stereo ,etc., or purchase 4 cases of your favorite beer. |

I carry our life ring, a large boat fender and some supplies in our transom locker (where TFD2001 identifies another switch which must be turned on for the AC to work) and it was this switch that somehow got knocked into the off position making me wonder once with what the heck has happened to cause a no power condition to our air conditioners digital display. Sometimes we get lucky and its the simple things (turning switch back on) to correct a boating issue. |

If you can direct me to where that $25 a case beer is in available in Canada, I can save more than $100 per summer, and I won't include my labor to consume it! |
