Greetings from Canada, where it is -20 at the moment, and desperately waiting for the white stuff to melt.

My question to you is:
Does anyone here know where I could find two hinges for the topside hatches on my V298 (00)?
I'm assuming the previous owner stepped on it and cracked the hinges.

Any help or link would be appreciated

Thanks in advance

Collin

The hatch is most likely Bomar. They sell replacement parts.

Most likely wrong. Lewar made most of the hatches in 2000 for FW cruisers. No longer available.

See link below.

Cap'n is correct and if you order from Lewmar directly, the hinge will be too big for our older hatches (believe me, I know). Someone on this site posted this link in an earlier thread and it appears they do carry the older spares (http://www.hatchmasters.com/index.php?c ... 88947dd0b3). I never did get around to ordering my hinge so no guarantee these people can help you either. Let us know if they do fit.

Are you referring to the portion of the hinge that is on top of the hatch or below?

our last boat I had to make my own. will do so again when that time comes.......

last hinge was a plastic that hardened over time and became very brittle. do you have all the parts to match up or use as a pattern?

Thanks for you replies
It's nice to know that people who share the same passion as myself enjoy helping others and sharing their knowledge from their years of experience.

To clarify, I am looking for the hinge part not the locking part of the hatch.
I am not sure what was meant when you asked if its the inner or outer portion I needed.

So If I understood correctly, you suggest that I contact Hatchmasters for the hinges?

Thanks again

Collin

Here is a picture of the underneath of the hatch. Since you mentioned that someone stepped on the hatch and cracked the hinge, did you mean the bond between the acrylic hatch lid and the grey hinge plate failed and separated? Or, did they crack the acrylic piece between the two hinge plates? If the former, you can glue them back. If the latter, you are screwed and it will cost you about $500 to replace the entire hatch.
