I was told by a friend with a 298 Vista that to remove the radar arch light trim ring to gain access to the bulb that he slightly wetted the palm of his hand, then pressed his hand up against the underside of the radar arch lights and then with a turn of his palm the trim ring came off.

Well I did that on our 328 and yes the trim ring would turn easy enough but do you think that damn ring would drop down - nop. Is the radar arch lights similar to the galley round ceiling lights in which they turn just a bit then can be pulled down and off? It didn't seem like I could find a spot while rotating the radar arch light trim ring that with a little pull down the trim ring would come off gaining access to the bulb. I really didn't want to start probing around with a bladed screw driver with some light prying in case I was missing an easier way to remove this trim ring.

What has anyone else found to be their easy removal process? I hate bending stuff up and damaging things if I don't need to.

Thanks,
Mike.

Can't remember if there is a release spot on the light that would allow the ring to come off. I put leds in mine a few years back, and remember using a thin razor blade to pry the ring off. I just went slow and moved the blade around in a few different spots and it popped off. I thought I was going to crack mine.
