My radio on my 268 stopped working yesterday. I checked the fuse which was okay, so before I go any farther does anyone have any suggestions? It worked fine the day before but when I tried to turn it on yesterday, nothing.

What year 268, and is the radio original? There might be a fuse on the back side of the radio, in addition to the one in the fuse panel at the helm. If you need to pull the radio to check the fuse, it's just the 4 screws on the radio mounting plate. There should be plenty of slack in the wires to pull it. Lay the radio on a towel on the galley counter. I assume you have the house battery switch on? Does the radio show signs of having power?

If your radio has the factory fitted amp/ upgrade, then if it's like my 2009 278, there was a 70A breaker loose in the engine compartment; connected to the engine battery, not the systems one. Ideally designed to flatten the engine battery when anchored up for a few hours. The radio itself gets its supply from the systems battery.

Same exact thing happened to me last week. Fuse at helm and one on back of radio were both ok...no sign of power.

Time to break out the voltmeter and check the ground, B+/MEM and switch ignition.

My original radio from 2006 died last year. Fuses ok. Something inside it. "New" from Ebay was the solution...i chalk that up to corrosion inside as it lives in a relatively moist environment and wasnt in any way "marine"-sealed like the GPS unit.
